Florence's husband, Joseph Batty deserted his family in 1892, after he was about to be discovered stealing his clent's money. He went to America and was never heard of again, by the family. Florence and her children are now living with her father, who is a widower and her unmarried sister, Edna.

Joseph Batty, her husband, deserted his family in 1892 after he was found to be embezzling money from clients funds.
The census states that there were four children to the marriage and that one died and three are still living. No record of the fourth child who died has been discovered, so this is a mystery.
As for Joseph Batty, he absconded to America and was never heard of again.

Florence Batty, Spinster, is age 30 and living at 13 Napier Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Lancashire. Her father is is described as a solicitor, which indeed he was until 1891. In that year he disappeared having been discovered embezzling clients money. His family never saw or heard from him again.
