    • The following is extracted from a family history summary, written by Sister Lucille Goodman and dated 16 May 1976.

      "Mary Ann was only 4 years old at the time of her mothers death and she was subsequently brought up by her Uncle Dougald in Montreal and given every possible educational and social advantage, which the other members of her family did not have the advantage of obtaining. During her growing up years she saw her father rarely, once at the age of twelve and then again at the age of twenty one."
