| Name |
John Andrew |
- John sates that he was born in Benwick near March Cambridgeshire/Huntingdonshire in the census's for 1851 & 1861, so he is probably the John baptised on 13 November 1785, son of Edward & Ann Andrew in Chatteris, a village 7 miles distant (less across the fields). There are a couple of other baptisms, which his could be but they are further distant.
The puzzle here is that one of John's children is named Addison. Why would you give such a name to a child unless it was the maiden surname of a female within the family?
The only Andrew/Addison marriage is that between John Andrew & Hannah Addison in 1731, in Hinderwell. However there seems to be no link between Edward of Benwick and Cleveland.
The only Edward in Cleveland born around the right time, is Edward son of Robert but he married Elizabeth Trattles in 1782, so he cannot be the link.
