This is the last will and Testament of me Newark Andrews of Simonside, in the County of Durham, Gentleman;
I give unto my son Newark Andrews the legacy or sum of Two Hundred Pounds, and unto my sister, Zebra Campion the legacy or sum of Twenty Pounds; to be paid by my executor hereinafter named within twelve months after my decease.
By virtue of every power or authority enabling me in that behalf, I give devise and appoint all my freehold and copyhold messuages. lands, tenements, water corn mill, fishery, hereditaments and premises situate at Holbeck in the parish of Wolsingham, in the said county (changed only as hereinafter mentioned) and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever into and to the use of my son Thomas Andrews, his heirs, sequels In right and assigns, forever. And I give devise and bequeath all my leasehold messuages lands and tenements situate at Simonside aforesaid, or elsewhere, and all other my personal estate, property, goods, chattels, and effects, whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said son Thomas Andrews. his executors, administrators and assigns; subject only to the payment of my debts and funeral testamentary expenses, and the legacies hereby given.
I charge my said freehold and copyhold premises at Holbeck with the payment of the annuity of forty pounds and legacy of six hundred pounds hereinafter given and bequeathed namely; I give and bequeath unto my daughter Indiana Coppin, wife of Thomas Coppin. Gentleman, the annuity or clear yearly sum of Thirty pounds during the term of her natural life to be payable and paid by my said son Thomas Andrews his heirs or assigns, on the thirteenth day of May and the Twenty Third day of November in every year, into the proper hands of my said daughter, or to such person or persons as she shall from time to time, half yearly and not otherwise, by any note or writing signed by her, appointed to receive the same; and so as the tine or any part thereby shall not be assignable or subject to the debts engagements, or control of her present or any future husband The first payment to be made on whichever of the said days shall be next after my decease.
And from and immediately after the decease of my said daughter. I give and bequeath the legacy or sum of Six Hundred Pounds unto and amongst the child and children of my said daughter who shall be living at the time of her decease, in equal shares If more than one; the share or shares of such child or children as shall have obtained the age of twenty one years in the lifetime of my said daughter to be paid within six months after her decease; and the share or shares of such child or children as shall be under that age at the decease of my said daughter to be paid as and when he, she, or they shall respectively attain such age aforesaid, interest in the meantime, after the rate of six per cent per annum, such interest to be paid and applied by my said son, Thomas Andrews for the maintenance, education and benefit of such child or children during his, her, or their minority.
I appoint my said son Thomas Andrews sole Executor of this, my last will and testament; and I hereby revoke all former wills. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty fifth day of January One thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
